ABOUT :- The Silk Route in Himachal Pradesh refers to the historic Old Hindustan-Tibet Road (originally started by the British in 1850), which was a vital trading corridor connecting India to Tibet via the Shipki La pass. This ancient route is famed for its breathtaking and often treacherous roads carved directly into vertical cliffs alongside the Sutlej River. Historical Significance: Traded commodities like wool, salt, and carpets moving from Delhi and Shimla, through the mountains to Tibet.The Route Trace: Starting near Kalka or Shimla, it weaves through Narkanda, Rampur, Sarahan, and the stunning Kinnaur Valley, ending at the last inhabited village of Chitkul.Shipki La Pass: At 3,930 m (12,894 ft), this is the exact mountain pass on the Line of Actual Control where the road finally enters TIBET.

DAY WISE ITINERAY :-

DAY :-01 Arrive Chandigarh station or airport to Shimla (300 kms 7 hrs)
Pickup from Delhi station or airport and drive to Shimla. On arrival check in hotel. Rest of the day free and explore The mall of Shimla. Overnight at hotel in Shimla.

DAY:- 02 Shimla – local sightseeing
Morning after breakfast visiting Indian Institute of Advanced Studies and Jakho temple, Christ Church, The Ridge, The Mall. Afternoon free for individual activity. Overnight at hotel.

DAY:- 03 Shimla to Sarahan (180 km 7 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive from Shimla Sarahan enroute visiting Sun temple at Nirath and Rampur. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening visit Bhimakali temple which is one of the 51 shaktipeeths of Hindu religion. Overnight at hotel.

DAY :-04 Sarahan to Sangla (115 km 7 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Sangla valley. On arrival check in camp. Visit remote villages of Rackcham and Chitkul villages. Overnight at camp.

DAY :-05 Sangla to Kalpa (51 km 3 hrs)
Morning visit Kamru village and fort. Later continue drive to Kalpa located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening free to explore Kalpa village. Overnight at hotel.

: DAY:- 06 Kalpa to Tabo (170 kms/ 8 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Tabo enroute visiting Nako village beautifully located on banks of a small lake. On arrival in Tabo check in and overnight at hotel.

DAY:- 07 Tabo to Kaza (50 km/ fullday) Morning visit Tabo monastery. Later drive to Kaza enroute visiting Lalung and Dhankar Gompa. On arrival in Kaza check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY:- 08 In Kaza – visit Ki Monastery and Kiber village
Morning visit the Ki monastery, 12 kms from Kaza. This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village of the region. Overnight at guest house.

DAY :-09 Kaza to Keylong (200 km 10 hrs)
Early morning check out hotel and drive to Keylong enroute crossing Losar village and also crossing Kunzum Pass. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY :-10 Keylong to Sarchu (110 kms 6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sarchu over Baralacha La (4800m). on arrival check in camp. Rest of the day free. Overnight in camp.

DAY :-11 Sarchu to Leh hotel drop (250 kms 10 hrs)
Morning after breakfast check out from the camp and drive to Leh over Lachang La (5065 m) and Tanglang La (5360 m). on arrival transfer to hotel. Drop at hotel. End of tour and services.
